Satellite High School

Located in Westwood High School, the Satellite Program offers a small classroom setting that provides a highly supportive and engaging environment designed to meet each student’s individual needs. The resource rich classroom is equipped with a range of instructional and assistive technologies. The program blends individualized classroom instruction with community-based opportunities designed to empower students to make decisions, advocate for themselves, and prepare them for their transition to adult life. Students are integrated with typical peers through a variety of age-appropriate opportunities in school and community settings. The program provides a range of social skill development, vocational experiences, and behavior modeling to promote independence. Individualized behavioral support plans are also an essential part of students’ daily lives.

Therapeutic Services Available

Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Transition Services, Nursing, Assistive Technology Support, Language Therapy, Adaptive Physical Education (APE), Behavioral Consultation

Parent Support Program: Many support programs including home-based consult services, individual clinical support meetings, consultation from a multidisciplinary team. TEC also offers Parent Sessions.

Additional Program Information: Given a strong program philosophy of developing independent skills, TEC provides students with varied experiences that develop academic skills, communication and social skills, motor skills, life skills, vocational skills, and personal management. TEC’s long-term technology plan provides our students with cutting-edge technology that gives students increased access to their environment. Career Development Planning and Experiences. Assistive Technology, AAC Consultation and Short-term 45-day placements (with and without assessments) are available.
