Early Childhood & Elementary – Berkley

The curriculum is child-centered. The teachers adhere to the philosophy that the best approach for young children and their families is one that provides for successful experiences for the children, their families, and the staff. Educators incorporate research-based best practices with supports provided by continual professional development, technical assistance, and a network of expert consultants. The elementary classroom offers comprehensive educational and therapeutic services for students aged six to twelve who present with diverse needs. Our mission is to provide students with the academic, social, emotional and therapeutic supports necessary to prepare them for inclusion opportunities in their community schools. Students have demonstrated needs in language development, cognition, sensory integration and social/ emotional/behavioral skills which often arise from diagnoses of autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, pervasive developmental disorder, and neuro-motor deficits.
