SEEM Prep Program
SEEM Prep Program is a public day high school for students with moderate to severe special needs. The primary goal is to provide a functional academic curriculum with vocational training to support development of the social, academic, and vocational skills students need to transition successfully into their communities as adults. Programming includes:
- Functional and Experiential Curriculum based upon the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for Students with Significant Disabilities (2001).
- Total communication approach and use of Augmentative and alternative communication systems, and assistive technologies to support student access to learning
- Positive Behavior Intervention Support Plans
- Adaptive Physical Education (individual and/or group)
- Integrated Related Service Approach in order to enhance student learning
- Social Skills Groups, Individual Counseling and Individualized Vocational Program
- Curriculum focusing on academic achievement, life skills development
- Intramural and Recreational sports
- Monthly School socials and dances for students
- Annual Participation in the Special Olympics
- The Community Work Program providing vocational opportunities for high school students aged 16-22 to learn and practice job skills in real employment settings.
Therapeutic Services Available
Parent Support Program: Students & their families have access to Wraparound services.
Additional Program Information: A Consulting BCBA is available.
