Elementary Therapeutic Day School

The Elementary Therapeutic Day School provides a highly structured environment for students whose emotional, behavioral, health, or learning challenges have impacted their abilities to be successful in traditional classroom groupings. Many students in this program are at or above grade-level academically but require smaller classroom sizes, more frequent breaks, structured reinforcement plans to regulate their behavior and form effective adult and peer relationships. Principles and strategies from responsive classroom, social thinking, and positive behavior intervention and supports are used by teachers, paraprofessionals, clinicians, speech and occupational therapists to assist students in being successful. As students are successful in this program, they may transition to Shore classrooms in public school settings and/or directly back to their home district, public school classrooms.
