The Northshore Education Consortium SOAR Program is located on the campus of Salem State University. The SOAR Program assist students in increasing independent skills across various settings such as academic functioning, social skills, career preparation, post secondary education exploration and travel training. Students participate in paid community based internships. There is also the option to attend the Independent Orientation Living Program and reside in the dorms on campus for a week with staff support.
SOAR is specially designed for students with Asperger’s Syndrome, anxiety disorders, and other related challenges. The goal of SOAR is to assist students in transition to college and/or the world of work and to support students in becoming confident, contributing members of society. The program is geared toward young adults who are motivated to prepare for the next level of independence on a college campus or in the work force.
