SMEC Transitional Services
SMEC Transitional Services provides instruction to students aged 18-21 in a variety of life skills including employment, ADLs, community safety, independent living, recreation and social skills. SMEC Transitional Services are provided in the community with a focus on maximizing independence and easing the transition from school to adult life. SMEC has a large network of business partners who provide paid, integrated employment opportunities for our students throughout the southeastern MA area. Our licensed special education teachers, highly qualified paraprofessionals, therapists and employment support team work together with students on their individual goals to smooth the transition to adulthood and expand opportunities for independence. Part-time, full-time, extended day and extended school year services are available to students from all districts.
