South Coast Middle Alternative School at Somerset Middle School

The South Coast Middle Alternative School (SCMAS) is an educational/therapeutic program serving special and general education students in grades 5 through 8 whose social, emotional, and/or academic challenges have interfered with successful functioning in a general education classroom. SCMAS provides both staff support and direct student services that will enable maximum student success in the general education or designated special education setting.

Therapeutic Services Available

Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Counseling, Vision Services, Transition Services, Nursing, Assistive Technology Support, Orientation & Mobility, Reading, Hearing Services, Adaptive Physical Education (APE)

Parent Support Program: School to home communication, Social Worker family outreach
